Smithsonian

Using fiber optics placed in GFRP panels, Stromberg designed and constructed a replica of the night sky for the National Museum of the Americans Indian’s “Our Universes” exhibit. In all, 13 panels were constructed in a semi-circular arc on a compound radius to create this Starfield canopy. Each panel measures 16 feet tall by 6 feet wide for a total of 100 feet on the curve.

The full exhibit contains galleries featuring artifacts expressing the world views and philosophies of indigenous cultures concerning the nature of the universe and human spirituality. Stromberg also did shop drawings for the Santa Clara bowl, a GFRG installation which houses these Native American artifacts.
