GFRS

Fifteen years ago, after many years experience working with cast stone and fiber reinforced materials, Lyndon Stromberg imagined and designed Glass Fiber Reinforced Stone, a product which combines the light weight properties of GFRP with the look and texture of quarried stone. Its strength and durability have been proven through the years both in the lab and in the field. With the invention of GFRS, Stromberg Architectural combines the latest technology with traditional elegance to bring you the best of both worlds.

Fabrication

Our in house design team will work closely with you to create the perfect design for your GFRS product. Crushed stone and resin along with alkali resistant glass fibers are then mixed and sprayed into a mold to match your designs. The final product has the look of traditional, heavy stonework, but at a fraction of the weight.

Why GFRS?

High strength

GFRS has the same strength to weight ratio as GFRP

Lightweight

Low weight of 3 lbs. per square foot means faster installation, less structural framing and lower shipping costs

Resistance

Resists salt water, chemicals and the environment - unaffected by acid rain, salts and most chemicals

Flexibility

Able to mold complex shapes: virtually any shape or form can be molded

Durability

Stromberg GFRS has the same durable qualities of our GFRP, which endured Category 5 hurricane Floyd with no damage, while nearby structures were destroyed.

Beauty

GFRS offers the look and texture of stonework, but without the weight and at a fraction of the cost
