RSC Professional Training and Education Center

Rose State College opened in 1970 under the name Oscar Rose Junior College. The school was named in memory of a well-respected local superintendent of schools. It was renamed Rose State College in 1983 and is now a part of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. The enrollment at the school is now over 8,000 and it sits on a 116-acre campus.

Stromberg panels and columns can be found on Rose State College’s Professional Training and Education Center, which opened in August 2007. The 32,000 square foot facility was designed not only for the school’s full time students but also to offer advanced training and educational opportunities to nearby Tinker Air Force Base, and the community. The facility includes a 98-seat auditorium, nine classrooms and a multi-purpose meeting area that can be divided into two or four instructional areas.

Stromberg’s panels and columns for this facility are constructed from Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). GFRC provides an excellent material for outdoor paneling as it faithfully mimics the look and feel of true concrete but at a greatly reduced weight. GFRC can be expected to last as long as precast concrete, and in certain situations, including long-term exposure to seawater, it can even be expected to last longer. GFRC is fireproof and can be molded into a wide assortment of shapes.
